The stainless steel air chamber of the SRM16-40.5 (35kV) fully enclosed and fully insulated insulated ring main unit is filled with SF6 gas, which seals the live parts from the switch and isolates them from the outside world. This hermetically sealed system makes the internal switches and live parts unaffected by changes in the external environment, resulting in high reliability, personnel safety and virtually maintenance-free.
